2017 Year of the UFO It is sad to say, that the second half of 2016 flew by so fast, I hardly had time to post patterns and tutorials. From September to this past Wednesday I was super busy running a quilt along which was hosted by Fandom in Stitches. I blogged and posted a LOT on FIS and the Facebook page for Fantastic Beasts Quilt Along, and did not have time for my own site. This will be corrected asap. And should not have happened, but I did learn a lot from this Quilt Along, even though I prepared for it for a year,Read More →

Philosophers Stone from Harry Potter The is the newest pattern made for a request. The lady, Jo, is making a Harry Potter quilt for her son, and wanted this faceted Philosophers Stone, to add to the patterns. The pattern is 10 inches finished, and paper pieced. This is an ongoing project hosted by Fandom in Stitches The original quilt along happened in 2011 and revitalized in 2015, andRead More →

Now, I will be completely honest with you. This was the first time I tried reverse applique …. and I didn’t like it. But after having a chat with Alida, I will try this technique again on a different pattern, I might change my mind. I chose two bright colors for the triangles behind a plain blue foreground. As an afterthought, i probably should have chosen a more vibrant color. Each block in thisRead More →
