The patterns is designed by Jennifer Ofenstein at Sewhooked and hosted by Fandom in Stitches.

The first block is of the Deathly Hallows.

The Elder Wand,” he said, and he drew a straight vertical line on the parchment. “The Resurrection Stone,” he said, and he added a circle on top of the line. “The Cloak of Invisibility,” he finished, enclosing both line and circle in a triangle, to make the symbol that so intrigued Hermione. “Together,” he said, “the Deathly Hallows.Xenophilius Lovegood

The second block is the Dark Mark and a potions bottle.

…You-Know-Who and his followers sent the Dark Mark into the air whenever they killed. The terror it inspired…you have no idea, you’re too young. Just picture coming home and finding the Dark Mark hovering over your house, and knowing what you’re about to find inside… Everyone’s worst fear…the very worst.Arthur Weasley

Project of Doom Week 1

Project of Doom week 1.

This is the first of 30 weeks worth of blocks, based on all the Harry Potter movies and books. All the blocks are designed by Jennifer Ofenstein from Sewhooked and hosted by Fandom In Stitches.

Block 1 is the crystal ball, Sybill Trelawney introduced all third year students to this device and its proper use in 1994. However, most students, Harry Potter and his friends in general, saw nothing more than the white blank swirl in it, and Ron joked about how that night would be very foggy. In their end of year exam, the third years had to look into a crystal ball and predict the future. Harry lied and said that he saw Buckbeak getting off his trial that night. Professor Trelawney then made a prediction, one of the two proper ones she had ever made.

Crystal-gazing is a particularly refined art.Professor Trelawney describing the art of reading crystal balls.

Quilt Pattern testing

Quilt Pattern testing

Recently I tested some Quilt pattern for a couple of people, from the Project of Doom group.

That was great fun, the finished patterns will be worked in to my Project of Doom quilt.

POD Quilt along Week 3

POD Quilt along Week 3

Week three in the Quilt along, Project of Doom.

Jennifer decided to make to new variations for the block, one for the good side and one for the bad side, the dark arts. This was fun, and I decided to also make the dark arts block, as my quilt will be double the size of the plan POD quilt. So the dark arts blocks will be on the outer edges of the quilt.

POD Quilt a long 2015

POD Quilt a long 2015

It is with great excitement that the new Project of doom Quilt a long (POD Quilt a long 2015) for 2015 was announced late last year. The super vibe that swept through the Facebook Group Project of Doom, (click on the name or here to go through and find out about this fantastic quilting project) was and still is awesome. The POD is based on the Harry Potter Movies. Yes it is still very popular.

On 7 January 2015 we received our first pattern Week 1 on the Fandom of Stitches Website. Once a week every Wednesday we will get a new pattern to make, until the 30th week, when we will be working on stitching all the blocks together to make up the complete quilt that will look like a bookcase.

Fandom in Stitches Week 1 Pattern for Project of Doom

This is my attempt for Pattern Week 1, which is found here.

I absolutely love quilting, and especially paper piecing. Every week I will add a new post with my new finished block and a link to the pattern.

Unfortunately I did not think about showing how I sewed the block. But will include it into my next post based on POD 2015.
