Fabric selection for this block.
I chose a delicate colors for this block.
Here is my version of the block
Quilting the block
I started by stitching in the ditch around all the squares.
Then change to a applique stitch on the machine, you can also use a satin stitch or hand applique your block.
And stitched all the way around the stars and the angel.

Like your fairy a lot. Only needs glitter. I can not find the new pattern, it is not on Sandra’s site yet. Good for you being so prompt and ready. I wish I was still like that. Seems once the children left and I left work the “lazies” moved in 🙂 Enjoying the blocks!–Robin
Pretty in pink! What a sweet angel.
Love your block, Vanda! Your angel is so sweet!
Cute angel! I’m really enjoying this quilt along and have been keeping up. It’s been a lot of fun. Thank you all for sharing.
That Michael Miller pink is perfect for an angel’s dress! Beautiful block! I enjoyed seeing your quilting on it, too.
I cannot find the link for this block. Help please
Love your pink and purple version, and that little patchwork block. Halfway through and they are all looking great.
Vanda, I love your block and how youare quilting it! ?
The pink dress is adorable! And I love all the different prints you’ve used. So cute!
Your block is great! I love the almost solid that you found for the skin.
I mentioned to Tuna quilts in a comment above, that the skin tone fabric is actually really old sheeting that I salvaged from my granny after she passed away. I have found it really difficult to find skin tones in the shops.
The skin tone is perfect. Can you tell me what it is or who it’s by? Great looking angel. It’s fun to see everyone’s creativity come out not only with the hosts but on facebook as well.
Well, I will be honest and say, I have no clue. The skin tone fabric I got from an old bed sheet. I just can’t throw anything away, so I normally salvage what I can out of old clothes and bed linen. The old bed sheet was from old linen from my granny. I took all her sheets and added it to my stash when she passed away.
I actually have several shades of “skin” tones from old bed sheets that I keep for blocks like this. And to be honest, I have been looking around for solid fabric like this in the fabric stores, but have not been able to find anything. So this bit of special stash I have is precious.
Cute block! And I agree–the skin tone fabric is perfect.
I love seeing you quilt a you go. I have yet to try that on a quilt… you are inspiring me! <3
