Monster Book of Monsters and Quirrell’s Turban is this weeks options in the Quilt Along.
I took some inspiration from other members of the group and decided to make my Monster Book of Monsters “Fluffy”. In hindsight, if I had to make the monster book again, I would NOT use fleece to do it again, keep to nice and safe cotton.
Saying that, doesn’t he look adorable, I named him Snuggles.
“A vicious guide to monstrous creatures.“—Description
The Monster Book of Monsters, by Edwardus Lima, is a particularly vicious textbook that is used in Care of Magical Creatures while Rubeus Hagrid (who thought the book’s aggressive nature was funny) was the teacher.
The book will attack anyone who attempts to open it. The only way to subdue the book is to stroke its spine, upon which the book opens placidly.
Then we have Quirrell’s turban.
“Petrified, he watched as Quirrell reached up and began to unwrap his turban. What was going on? The turban fell away. Quirrell’s head looked strangely small without it. Then he turned slowly on the spot. Harry would have screamed, but he couldn’t make a sound. Where there should have been a back to Quirrell’s head, there was a face, the most terrible face Harry had ever seen. It was chalk white with glaring red eyes and slits for nostrils, like a snake.“—The thing behind Quirrell’s turban.
