Haunted Halloween Update

Image

**Update! Haunted Halloween Update !**

My project for the Haunted Halloween Blog Hop is nearly finished.

These are some of the colors I am using in the project.

The finished item will be a wall-hanging and will measure +- a yard / meter both ways. You don’t have to use it as a wall hanging, it can be a table topper, depending on how you decide to put it together.

13 Patterns in total and will all be downloadable for free for the duration of the blog hop.

The Blog Hop starts 16 October and ends 29 October, and there will be about 47 bloggers showing off their patterns and designs they have made.

My blog date is 20 October, so come around and visit again on the day.

And the best part, their will be prizes to be won for anyone following along in the Haunted Halloween blog hop.

For now you can get more in formation on the Hop by clicking on the picture below, to go to our host blog.

Severus Snape

Severus Snape

Severus snape, harry potter, paper piecing, applique, sewing, craft, pattern

Click on the picture to download the pattern.

Designed and tested by Vanda Chittenden

20 x 20 inch paper pieced with applique

This pattern was inspired by Snape and his love for Lily.

“But this is touching, Severus,” said Dumbledore seriously. “Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?”
“For him?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!”
From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe. She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
“After all this time?”
“Always,” said Snape.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

So, when a swap event happened recently and my swap buddy requested Snape, I decided to design Snape with a memory of his Protronus.

The Patronus is appliqued, you can decide if you want it, your choice. Pattern shape included in the pdf download.

I also tried to embroider the blossom tree where Snape met Lily for the first time, and had some blossoms floating around. Not to many.

That is completely optional.

I hope you like him. (I will need to make another one, just for me.)

Always

POD Quilt a long 2015

POD Quilt a long 2015

It is with great excitement that the new Project of doom Quilt a long (POD Quilt a long 2015) for 2015 was announced late last year. The super vibe that swept through the Facebook Group Project of Doom, (click on the name or here to go through and find out about this fantastic quilting project) was and still is awesome. The POD is based on the Harry Potter Movies. Yes it is still very popular.

On 7 January 2015 we received our first pattern Week 1 on the Fandom of Stitches Website. Once a week every Wednesday we will get a new pattern to make, until the 30th week, when we will be working on stitching all the blocks together to make up the complete quilt that will look like a bookcase.

POD Quilt a long 2015

Fandom in Stitches Week 1 Pattern for Project of Doom

This is my attempt for Pattern Week 1, which is found here.

I absolutely love quilting, and especially paper piecing. Every week I will add a new post with my new finished block and a link to the pattern.

Unfortunately I did not think about showing how I sewed the block. But will include it into my next post based on POD 2015.
