Enter If You Dare Blog Hop Day Two

Yesterday started the Enter If you Dare Blog Hop, a Halloween theme.

I had so much fun, making the mug rugs, and wall hanging for this event.

But first!  A big thank you to Marian at Seams to be Sew for planning and running another awesome event. Be sure to visit Marian blog every day to get the pretty awesome patterns she is giving away.

The Bonus Blocks

Ok! yes I am starting this post a little back to front.

Marian asked all the bloggers if they were interested in making some of her bonus patterns to show off during the hop. (The free patterns mentioned above). And I jumped at the chance.

Here is my two that I chose for my day.

This one looks just like a ghost emoji. I think it is so cute. Click on the photo to go to the page where all these patterns are shown.

I chose a black background, as you would see your ghost during the night, and bordered it with a green to match his eye. A super easy applique pattern, I chose to machine applique the pieces to the background at the same time quilting it through the quilt sandwich. I then back stitched the features in the face. You can just make them out in the photos, I do wish I had chosen a darker green.

This one above is a traditionally pieced pattern of Frankenstein. Mostly squares.

I chose to quilt this wall hanging (20 x 20″) in a criss cross pattern, and think it turned out very well.

Click on the photo to go to the pattern page.

My contribution

Alright, I need to confess something here.

Every single hop and quilt along I have taken part in, I have designed something new.

But circumstances in the last couple of months had been against me for this one.

The patterns I am showing today, is both free and new to me. Freshly made, quilted and bound, hot of the presses.

But not designed by me. Both these blocks below can be found free on Fandom in Stitches and is designed by my friend Jennifer Ofenstein, these patterns can also be found on her own website called Sewhooked.

Project of Doom Week 10

Project of Doom Week 10

Standard Book of spells, years 1 to 7.

Traditionally, these books would all be with the same binding and with lettering and numbered. But I don’t have an embroidery machine and decided to rather make each book with its own colors, to make them more individual pretty.

All the Harry Potter patterns can be found on the Fandom in Stitches website here.

Here is my take on the block.

The Standard Book of Spells is a collection of books written by Miranda Goshawk for a variety of subjects at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The series includes seven books, apparently for each year at Hogwarts, covering the spells students are taught. They are used by Professor Filius Flitwick in Charms, and by Professor Severus Snape in Defence Against the Dark Arts during the 1996–1997 school year. The Standard Book, or at least the second Volume, costs 1 Sickle at the Flourish and Blotts bookstore.

Project of Doom Week 3

The patterns is designed by Jennifer Ofenstein at Sewhooked and hosted by Fandom in Stitches.

The first block is of the Deathly Hallows.

The Elder Wand,” he said, and he drew a straight vertical line on the parchment. “The Resurrection Stone,” he said, and he added a circle on top of the line. “The Cloak of Invisibility,” he finished, enclosing both line and circle in a triangle, to make the symbol that so intrigued Hermione. “Together,” he said, “the Deathly Hallows.Xenophilius Lovegood

The second block is the Dark Mark and a potions bottle.

…You-Know-Who and his followers sent the Dark Mark into the air whenever they killed. The terror it inspired…you have no idea, you’re too young. Just picture coming home and finding the Dark Mark hovering over your house, and knowing what you’re about to find inside… Everyone’s worst fear…the very worst.Arthur Weasley
