The Romulan Phaser is one of many Romulan patterns that is being designed. The Romulan presence stand out most for me in the new timeline, when they came through the wormhole in their massive ship, which was an awesome sight. They did not have a major role, I think, in the old series. This phaser is the one that the Romulans used to shoot at Kirk, when he went to find Captain Pike on the Romulan ship. Please check back again for more Star Trek patterns, a whole queen sized bed quilt is planned. Plus extras so that everyone can pick their favorite blocks. TillRead More →

The Romulan Honor Blade is a stunning piece of weaponry and worthy of a place in any Star Trek Quilt. Honor, is something the Romulans valued the most. The Romulan Honor Blade (Romulan: dathe’anofv-sen) is a traditional weapon. Honor blades is passed down through Romulan families, and are ritually sharpened. I love the shape of this weapon, it just looks deadly and mean. The Romulans used these weapons to behead any opponents who stands in their way or betrays them. “Nero is a particularly troubled Romulan.“ – Spock, 2258 (Star Trek) LLAP Vanda Chittenden SaveRead More →

What can I say, Romulan Ale had to done. My favorite scene was where Kirk had the State dinner with Gorkon and everyone got a little tipsy. Romulan ale was a highly intoxicating alcoholic drink of Romulan origin with a characteristic blue color. It was also used for “medicinal purposes” (Really? Now you tell me) Captain James T. Kirk: [dictating his personal log] The Enterprise hosted Chancellor Gorkon and company to dinner last night. Our manners weren’t exactly Emily Post. Note to the Galley; Romulan Ale can no longer be served at diplomatic functions. LLAP Vanda Chittenden SaveRead More →

Captain Kirk, what can I say. He is one of my favorite characters, but does not have the no. 1 spot. Kirk, looking handsome and properly dressed. He always did seem to get into fights and having his shirt torn off. No Star Trek quilt is complete without Kirk in it. “Don’t let them promote you. Don’t let them transfer you. Don’t let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship because while you’re there, you can make a difference.“ – James T. Kirk, 2371 James Tiberius “Jim” Kirk is a fictional character in the Star Trek media franchise, appearing in manyRead More →

The Batleth, a Klingon Weapon is a double sided scimitar/hook sword/deer horn knives hybrid-edged weapon with a curved blade, four points and hand holds on the back. It is designed and created by Star Trek: The Next Generation visual effects producer Dan Curry for the Star Trek franchise. It is mainly used within canon by the Klingons. Curry has called the bat’leth “one of the iconic images associated with the show”. It has spawned a smaller version, which became known as the “mek’leth”. Bat’leths are also considered part of popular culture, appearing in television programs outside of the Star Trek franchise. Replicas of bat’leths areRead More →

Agleh, the Ancient, a Klingon Weapon. This is my newest pattern in the Star Trek series. An Agleh, this is an ancient traditional weapon found in the Klingon historical archives. The weapon was used to slice and rip their enemies to pieces with all the jagged sharp points of the blade. We did not see this weapon used very often in the Star Trek movie or the series, as Worf favored the Bat’leth. I hope you like this new pattern, there is many more on the way in the Star Trek series.
